Taking calls is easy. You go online, your phone rings, and you choose to accept or decline. You are always in control.

Going online and offline

You can go online or offline any time from your dashboard. When you are online, callers can see you and call you. When you go offline, no new calls come.

If a caller has hearted you as a favourite, they can tap “Notify me” while you are offline. They will know when you are back.

What happens when a call comes

  1. A caller picks you and taps call.
  2. Your phone rings first. Nobody is connected to you yet.
  3. You hear a short private announcement. It tells you the caller’s display handle and how many times they have called before.
  4. Press 1 to accept. Press 2 to decline.
  5. If you accept, the caller’s phone rings. Then you are joined together.
  6. Both of you hear a short safety notice.

The 10-second rule

If you do not press anything within 10 seconds, it counts as a decline. Nothing is charged. Nothing bad happens to your profile.

Declining is fine

You can decline any call. You do not owe anyone a reason. If you feel tired, busy or unsure, press 2. You can also hang up at any time during a call.

Set your topics

On your profile, you choose which topics you are happy to talk about. This is called topic consent. Callers can see these topics before they call.

Only talk about topics you have agreed to. If a caller pushes you to talk about something you did not agree to, you can say no, or end the call.

Keep it simple and kind

Many callers just want to be heard. Say hello, listen, and be warm. You are not a doctor or a counsellor, so do not give medical, legal or money advice.

Something went wrong? Read handling rude or scam callers. The full list of rules is on the host rules page.

What happens if I do not answer in time?

If you do not answer within 10 seconds, it counts as a decline. The caller is not charged.

Do I have to accept every call?

No. You can decline any call. It is fine, and you do not need a reason.

Can the caller see my phone number?

No. The two calls are joined through a platform number. Neither of you ever sees the other's personal number.
