What can I talk about?

Know which topics are fine, what is not allowed, and where to get help for real emergencies.

Read in 2 minUpdated 8 Oct 2026For everyone

Hello Fraands is for friendly, respectful talk. Most topics of daily life are fine. A few things are never allowed. Read this page once so you know the rules.

What you can talk about

  • Your day, your family, your work, your studies.
  • Exam stress, interview worry, shaadi tension.
  • Feeling alone, or feeling low after a hard day.
  • Movies, cricket, music, food, travel, books.
  • Learning a language or sharing a hobby.
  • Late-night talk when you cannot sleep.

Example: Kabir is nervous about a job interview. He talks it through with a host. He practises how to say “tell me about yourself”. That is a good call.

What is not allowed

  • Abuse, threats and gaali.
  • Asking for or sharing phone numbers, WhatsApp, Instagram or UPI IDs.
  • Planning to meet in person.
  • Selling anything. This includes products, remedies, tips and loans.
  • Asking for money or payment outside the platform.
  • Recording the other person.
  • Anyone under 18.
  • Asking for OTP, UPI PIN, card or bank details, or Aadhaar number.

If someone does these, AI can end the call by itself and flag the account. See Community guidelines.

Sexual talk

Sexual or suggestive talk is not allowed.

There is one exception. It is a real health or medical talk with a host who has agreed to that topic. The topic is shown on the host’s profile. Women’s health talk in the women-only space is one example. Explicit or erotic talk is never allowed, even then.

Not professional advice

A host is a friend who listens. A host is not a doctor, lawyer, counsellor, CA or money advisor. Do not ask for treatment, legal steps or investment tips. For these, please meet a qualified person.

If you need urgent help

Hello Fraands cannot handle emergencies.

  • In danger: call 112.
  • Mental health support: call Tele-MANAS on 14416. It is free and open 24 hours.

If you talk about hurting yourself, it is never a strike. We only follow up to check on your welfare. See emergency help.
